Why Journaling Might Just Change Your Life

Hey everyone! Journaling is something that genuinely transformed my life. I resisted it for ages simply because I wasn’t sure where to begin. If you’re feeling the same, here are some tips to help you get started.

Why Journaling Might Just Change Your Life

1. Find Your Space

Choose a spot where you feel most at ease—free from distractions like your phone. This is your time to zone out and dive into your thoughts.

2. There’s No “Right” Way to Journal

Journaling doesn’t have to follow a specific format. Just let your thoughts flow onto the page. Don’t worry about grammar or structure—just write what comes to mind. Observe what you’ve written and use it as a chance to reflect and grow. Remember, no one else is going to read it, so be honest with yourself.

I’m a fan of what I call “journal dumping,” which is basically jotting down bullet points of everything swirling in my head. It’s a great way to clear mental clutter and make space for more important things. You don’t have to stick to a strict routine; just write whenever you feel the need to unload.

3. Looking for Prompts?

If you’re after a little more structure, check out the prompts below for morning and nighttime journaling. These can help guide your writing and make the process even more beneficial.

🌞 3 things I am grateful for right now (don’t move on until you’ve finished this one 😉 there are always things to be grateful for, sometimes you just need to look harder. The more you can practice gratitude, the more abundant life becomes)

🌞 Something/someone I need to let go of in order to move forward

🌞 My INTENT for today, or a positive affirmation

🌚 Something I achieved today (remember, more doesn’t always = more.. you might have achieved something that brought you more peace)

🌚 Something I learnt today (think outside the box.. this could include a trigger that came up and unpacking the meaning behind it, or an obstacle you faced and accepted as it is, or overcame)

🌚 Who am I going to show up as tomorrow? (How can I make tomorrow better?

Happy journaling! 🎉
